Homemade Cookie Recipe: Easy & Delicious Cookies in Minutes

There’s something incredibly satisfying about baking your cookies — the aroma, the warmth, and of course, the taste. This easy homemade cookie recipe is perfect for anyone looking to whip up a quick batch of around 15 cookies, using simple pantry ingredients. Whether you're a fan of classic chocolate chip, nutty crunch, fruity bursts, or even a touch of savory, this base recipe is super versatile and can be customized to suit your flavor cravings.

Start with basic ingredients: flour, sugar, butter, eggs, baking soda, and your favorite mix-ins like chocolate chips, nuts, or dried fruit. Mix until smooth, scoop onto a baking tray, and bake at 180°C for 12–15 minutes. The result? Soft, golden cookies with just the right amount of crunch on the edges.

Once baked and cooled, ensure your cookies stay fresh and presentable by wrapping them in Foodwrap — a high-quality, greaseproof paper that’s not only stylish but practical. It helps keep the cookies moisture-free and crumb-free, whether you're storing them at home or packing them as a gift.

Need to warm them up later? No problem — Foodwrap is Microwave Safe and Food Grade, making it safe to reheat your cookies without removing the wrap. It's an ideal choice for home bakers who care about quality, hygiene, and presentation.

So the next time you bake a batch of cookies, don't forget the final touch — wrap them with love in Foodwrap. It’s more than just wrapping — it’s a statement of freshness and care.

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp ghee 60 gm OR soft salted butter (Note: Ghee should not be melted)
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar 30 gm
  • 9 tbsp all-purpose flour (80 gm)
  • Pinch of salt, only if using ghee
  • Flavorings of your choice: chocolate chips, chopped nuts, dried fruit, roasted cumin seeds, etc.

Instructions

  1. Creaming: In a mixing bowl, cream together the ghee (or butter) and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. You can use a hand mixer or an electric stand mixer for this step.
  2. Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the all-purpose flour to the creamed mixture, mixing well until a soft dough forms. If using ghee, consider adding a pinch of salt to balance the sweetness.
Flavor Time! Now comes the fun part: Choose your flavorings! Here are some ideas:
  3. Chocolate Chip: Add 1/2 cup of chocolate chips (or more to your taste) to the dough and mix them in evenly.
  4. Nutty Delight: Chop up your favorite nuts (almonds, walnuts, pecans) and fold them into the dough.
  5. Fruity Fiesta: Add dried fruits like chopped cranberries, raisins, or chopped apricots to the mix.
  6. Savory Surprise: For a unique twist, try adding a teaspoon of roasted cumin seeds (jeera) to the dough for a savory twist.
  7. Feel free to experiment! You can even combine different flavors for a truly unique creation.
  8. Chilling Out: Once you've incorporated your chosen flavors, flatten the dough slightly and wrap it in plastic wrap. Refrigerate the dough for at least 1-2 hours. This step allows the flavors to meld and helps the cookies hold their shape while baking.
  9. Preheat Party: While your dough chills, preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  10. Shape Up! Take out the chilled dough and, on a lightly floured surface, roll it out to about 1/4-inch thickness. Use cookie cutters to create your desired shapes, or simply cut squares for classic cookies.
  11. Bake Time! Transfer the shaped cookies onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  12. Cool Down & Enjoy! Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy your delicious homemade cookies!
